Trying out a new theme today! More posts to follow.
Sorry about the poor close up quality - the sun shone off of my camera and I couldn’t see that the photo’s were fuzzy!

It has been raining here. A lot. Unfortunately this has meant I haven’t been able to do any sticky notes in a little while. However, it did give me an opportunity to try painting again!
So, this is my first foray into painting in a very long time. I’ve never painted on canvas or canvas board before either, so although this piece didn’t turn out perfect, I think it was a good first effort. I love spring and I love bright colours, so I chose a butterfly with my own colour scheme as the subject. (Sorry about the shadow, I’ll try to take a clearer picture and post it later.)
Today I finally ventured into The Artstore in uptown Waterloo. I’d driven past it before, but it’s neatly tucked away and I never really gave it a second thought. Since it’s raining today and I won’t be posting anything this weekend unless it gives up, I thought I’d go and check it out. It was amazing. The store provides so many varieties of brands and mediums that I was surprised that they manged to organize it all in such a small space! The prices are quite reasonable as well.
However, the main reason I will be going back (and probably doing most of my future supply shopping there) was the super friendly and helpful staff. The woman working there today was knowledgeable and eager to help me explore the different options they had and I left with a considerable amount of stuff without too much of a dent in my wallet. It’s wonderful to be able to buy your supplies and discuss your current projects with people who are genuinely excited for you and interested in your personal endeavors.
For anyone else interested in visiting this true gem of a store, their information can be found here: http://theartstoreofwaterloo.com
Apparently this particular exhibit only ran until this past Saturday so unfortunately I will not get to see it. If anyone did, I’d love to hear about it!
Currently at Artery Gallery (downtown Kitchener) there is an exhibition, t’art, that caught my eye. Mostly because ‘beartank’ is probably the best name I’ve ever heard of for an art exhibition description. I’m not sure how long it’s running for but I plan on checking it out soon! If any one else manages to make it, let me know what you think!

I had a dream about a new lipstick that I wanted to try, and it led me to make today’s post.
