Today I finally ventured into The Artstore in uptown Waterloo. I’d driven past it before, but it’s neatly tucked away and I never really gave it a second thought. Since it’s raining today and I won’t be posting anything this weekend unless it gives up, I thought I’d go and check it out. It was amazing. The store provides so many varieties of brands and mediums that I was surprised that they manged to organize it all in such a small space! The prices are quite reasonable as well.
However, the main reason I will be going back (and probably doing most of my future supply shopping there) was the super friendly and helpful staff. The woman working there today was knowledgeable and eager to help me explore the different options they had and I left with a considerable amount of stuff without too much of a dent in my wallet. It’s wonderful to be able to buy your supplies and discuss your current projects with people who are genuinely excited for you and interested in your personal endeavors.
Apparently this particular exhibit only ran until this past Saturday so unfortunately I will not get to see it. If anyone did, I’d love to hear about it!
Currently at Artery Gallery (downtown Kitchener) there is an exhibition, t’art, that caught my eye. Mostly because ‘beartank’ is probably the best name I’ve ever heard of for an art exhibition description. I’m not sure how long it’s running for but I plan on checking it out soon! If any one else manages to make it, let me know what you think!
Hello readers! Recently, I decided to join the league of indie street artists that I’ve been hearing about via various magazines and internet sources. I in no way admit to being an artist on any sort of professional level, but more of someone who enjoys art and drawing as a passion project.
I settled on sticky notes as a form of artistic expression because they are something I use all the time anyways, and I think have a beautiful simplicity about them.
As such, I’ll be posting various sticky notes about town and taking pictures to share here and I encourage anyone who is doing similar work to share their art on this site.
